District Testing Program

Each year the East Penn School District screens, examines and administers tests to groups of students. The Board of Directors must grant representational consent annually, publish the purpose and character of the data collection and afford parents the opportunity to contest the necessity and desirability of the collection process or proposed use of the data.

The East Penn School District Board of Directors granted representational consent for the following data collection for the 2010/11school year.

TESTS

Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) 

     Mathematics and Reading - Grades: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11

     Science - Grades 4, 8, 11

     Writing - Grades 5, 8, 11

District Final Examinations - Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 and Algebra 1 students

Career Cruising Interest Inventory - Grade 11

In addition, teachers administer informal academic assessments and achievement tests as required by the curriclumum in grades K through 12.

The EPSD uses specialists from the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 to assess and provide services for any students who may have Hearing or Visual impairments.  These services c an be requested, with parental consent.
