GIFTED EDUCATION

There is a two-stage evaluation process associated with the identification of gifted students in the East Penn School District:

The screening process entails a review of student's educational record and a standardized test of achievement in reading, math, and written language.  It also includes a review of the Scales for Identifying Gifted Students – Home Rating Scales.

The process used in the next stage is referred to as a Gifted Multidisciplinary Evaluation (GMDE).  It includes an   intelligence test, individually administered by a certified school psychologist; and a student academic performance profile, including curriculum based assessments, completed by the classroom teacher(s). Past report cards and standardized achievement test results are also reviewed when available.

If you think your child is mentally gifted and in need of services, contact the Student Services Office at 610-966-8355.
