IDENTIFICATION OF STUDENTS IN NEED OF DISABILITY SERVICES

Procedures in the East Penn School District for the screening and identification of students thought to be exceptional are available in the Pupil Personnel Services Office or the Principal’s Office at each building.

Procedures are in the form of a Flow Chart, describing the process from teacher and/or parent concerns through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team Meeting.

In compliance with the requirements of the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FFERPA) and the Pennsylvania State Special Education Regulations, the district ensures confidentiality of all appropriate student and family information.

Any parent(s)/guardian(s) who feel that their child is disabled and in need of special education services should write a letter to their child’s principal describing their concerns.
