EPSD Professional Development

Professional Development

The goal of the East Penn School District’s Professional Development Institute is to provide all faculty members and support staff with opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs in order to foster a learning community that positively impacts student learning.

Download the Offsite Request forms here (added on June 8, 2005 | PDF format). Download the Conference Expense Voucher here (added on June 2005 | PDF format).

A collaborative plan developed by a teacher with one or more people provides the opportunity for research, problem-solving, application, assessment, and reflection.  “It is the most promising strategy for sustained, substantive school improvement” as it encourages the “ability of school personnel to function as professional learning communities” (DuFour, Professional Learning Communities at Work: Best Practices for Enhancing Student Achievement).

With this in mind, a 1) Collaborative Professional Development Plan Proposal form, a 2) Collaborative Professional Development Plan SUMMARY form, and the 3) directions for completing these documents and the collaboration process are included in this packet for those teachers who are interested in taking advantage of this professional opportunity in the East Penn School District Professional Development Institute.
