The Alburtis “Green Team” Garden Club, a dedicated young group of horticulturalists and their faculty advisors (Kate White, Leslie Hefron, and Sarah Tiede), meets every Wednesday afternoon. The Green Team learns about gardening through informational sessions on topics such as composting and butterflies, presented by the Penn State Master Gardeners. The Gardening Club applies what they have learned by tending to our school garden. They compost food waste from the cafeteria daily, and harvest their vegetables for the school’s salad bar.

Songfest 09

PMEA Songfest 2009
Congratulations to ten musical students from Alburtis Elementary school! Ten students were selected from thirty-five auditions for a Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) song festival. The festival is a singing event where select students from the local elementary schools gather to form a 230 person choir.  On February 27th these students will arrive at Parkland High school for a full day of rehearsal.  After perfecting the songs they have already been practicing, the massive choir will show off their hard work in a concert starting at 7:30. The public is welcome, so please come out and support your fellow Alburtis musicians!
