Congratulations to Lower Macungie Middle School’s Stephen Toth and his Motorsports Engineering Club for being chosen to receive the 2016 PPL and PBS39 Empowering Educators Grant. The Empowering Educators grant program directs focus toward science, technology, engineering and math projects to help spark student interest in these subjects. Through these competitive grants, K-12 teachers in schools in the 29 counties served by PPL Electric Utilities can receive $1,000 funding for educational projects that focus on energy issues like renewable energy demonstrations, energy efficiency and the greening of schools. These grants are available for projects that enhance established classroom curricula and academic standards or support extracurricular activities of school organizations and clubs. Mr. Toth and his Motorsports Engineering Club received their grant at a ceremony held at the PSB39 headquarters at SteelStacks on January 12, 2017.
