GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The East Penn School District requires that all students complete a minimum of twenty-one (21) credits (as defined in the Program of Studies) between grades 9 and 12 for graduation to be earned.
Credits must be completed in the following areas:

*Students must complete four Wellness/Fitness courses, one of which must be aquatics.
Arts and/or Humanities
Any Course offered in the following departments may be used to satisfy the Arts/Humanities requirement:
- Art
- Music (including band, orchestra and chorus when offered for credit)
- English
- Family and Consumer Science
- World Language
- Social Studies (Since all students are required to complete a four-year Social Studies sequence, on of these courses could automatically fulfill on of the two Arts/Humanities requirements)
- Technology Education
Computer Applications
All students must complete one semester of an individual computer applications course. Please see courses listed in the Computer & Business Applications and Computer Science departments for courses that fulfill this requirement.
Students must pass their current level, full year English course in order to go to the next level, full year English course. It is not possible to take two different level, full year English courses in the same year.
Standarized Assessments
Students Shall demonstrate proficiency in reading and mathematics on either the state assessments administered in grade 11 or 12 or local assessment aligned with academic standards and state assessments at the proficient level or better to graduate. If necessary, special education students can graduate based on IEP goals.
Transfers
Students transfering into the East Penn School District who are in jeopardy of not satisfying local graduation requirements due to differences in requirements betweeen the East Penn School and the previous school(s) attended and/or students enrolled in approved differentiated academic programs (ADAP) are entitled to an adjustment in the graduation requirements according to the procedures established by the Superintendent/Principal. (Beginning 2006-2007)
