PROCESS:
Students may begin registering for summer school courses on May 1st, 2009. The counselors will review the courses needed to be taken by the student and explain the details outlined in the brochure for registration. In addition to courses being offered for remediation, we are also offering Geometry and Algebra 2 for acceleration. We also are pleased to offer some .5 credit courses required for graduation to students who wish to take them during the summer instead of trying to fit them into their regular academic school year. Summer school brochures will also be available on line through the high school.
Summer school courses taken and passed will appear on the high school transcript, in addition to the failed course if taken for remediation. Students repeating a course in summer school and passing that course will have the two lowest quarter grades replaced by the summer school grade. This, in turn, will generate a recalculation of the student’s GPA.
