 Student Parking 2009-2010

**Parking Permits are Non-Transferable**

I understand that parking on school district property is a privilege. Failure to obey the following regulations will result in the withdrawal of parking privileges, and additional disciplinary actions will be assessed, as prescribed in the Emmaus High School Discipline Code: parking in unauthorized areas on school property will result in detentions and eventual loss of parking privileges for the remainder of the academic year. Only cars with permits are allowed to park on school property. Parking on school property without permit, or parking with an unregistered vehicle will be cause for ticketing by the Emmaus Police Department, as well as towing. Finally, after a student’s 4th late to school, the student will lose late arrival and/or early dismissal privileges, in addition to losing parking privileges for the remainder of the semester.

The issuance of a permit guarantees the student ONE parking spot. All students who accept the Emmaus High School Parking Permit understand that the issuance of the parking permit is subject to the following rules and regulations during the 2009-2010 school year:

1.      Students shall drive safely on and near the campus. Reckless driving will result in Saturday detentions and/or loss of parking privileges, as described in the Discipline Code, as a Level II offense.

2.      Students shall be cautious when driving in the parking lot. The speed limit is 10 mph.

3.      Students shall be considerate of the Emmaus High School neighbors by obeying ALL traffic and parking regulations.

4.      Students shall park only in the approved WHITE spaces on the Emmaus High School parking lots.  You will be ticketed/towed if you park in a yellow space.

5.      Students shall not go to their cars during the school day, without explicit permission from a high school administrator.

6.      Students shall properly display the parking permit at all times.  You must hang the tag from the car’s rearview mirror.

7.      East Penn School District does not assume liability for damages or stolen property.

You must return the parking permit application to Mrs. Palazzo in the main office, along with copies of your Driver’s License and Car Registration for the car(s) you will be driving to school.  NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE – SEPTEMBER 18, 2009.  Students who acquire a driver’s license after this deadline will be able to apply for a permit in advance; however, the student will need to pick up the permit upon acquisition of the license.  Permits will be issued on a first-come/first-served basis until all permits have been issued.  Only seniors will receive permission to park on school property in areas designated for students.  Only one permit will be issued per student.  Students who lose their original tag will be charged $5 for a replacement, if available.
