Treatments / Procedures

The following procedure for administration of treatments or medical procedures in school have been established with your child’s safety and welfare in mind:

  • Medical treatments or procedures should not be scheduled during school hours unless absolutely necessary. 
  • If a student requires a medical treatment or procedure during school hours an Authorization for Treatment form must be completed by the health care provider and signed by a parent/guardian.
  • Requests for treatment or procedure during school hours will be assessed on a case-by-case basis in conjunction with the parent, the student’s health care provider, the school nurse, school administrator, and the chief school physician.
