Spelling Updates

Generally, every six school days, the students will be pretested on new spelling words.  Following the pretest, each student is given one of two lists for the week based upon pretest results.  The student's test words are added to the "Words to Study" column in the spelling book.  There will be a total of 15 words for each spelling test.

HOMEWORK:  The students are assigned homework on Day 1 that is not due until Day 6.  The due date and test test will be written on every assignment sheet.  It is not my intention for your child to complete all of the spelling homework in one day.  Rather, I am using this method as a way to begin working on time management skills.  I encourage the children to do a small bit of it each evening.

TESTING:  Students will be given tests based upon their list for the week (list A or B).  Students must know which list is theirs.

Click on the lesson to see what the pretest words and additional words are.  I will post each lesson after giving the pretest.

*Review lessons (lessons 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30) will not be added as these lessons are review pages from the spelling workbook.  These pages may be found on the Think Central site under the spelling workbook icon.
