All About Mrs. Huebner
I am 28 years old and I am originally from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I moved to the Lehigh Valley when I started working at East Penn in 2007. This is my sixth year at Alburtis and I am excited to be teaching at such a great school!
Before I began teaching, I went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and majored in Elementary Education. From there, I went into an urban studies program and did a year of student teaching in inner-city Pittsburgh.
After graduating in 2006, I worked at a private school in my hometown, where I taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade Reading and Social Studies.
I recently completed Master's Degree at Wilkes University for Classroom Technology and I am excited to incorporate that into the classroom! In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family. My mom is an Assistant to the Administrator for the Luzerne Intermediate Unit for schools. My dad works for the Social Security Administration. I also have a younger brother, Tim. He is 25 and is a job transition coach. I also got married last October! My husband, Dave, is also a teacher. He teaches 8th grade History for a cyber school in West Chester.
In addition, I like to spend time with my friends, listen to music, watch movies, and read. I have two cats, Linus and Lucy who keep me entertained when I am not teaching. I enjoy swimming and I am also a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan! HERE WE GO!
