General Classroom Information

School begins begins at 8:55 am. Children should be dropped off in front of Lincoln School no earlier than 8:35. Children must be in the classroom by 8:55am. If they are not, I am required to mark them as "late". Please remember that its important for your children to arrive on time, not just because its a rule, but because it is important for them to establish a morning routine. In order to feel successful your child needs ample time to unpack and get ready for their day!

Dismissal is at 3:30pm. Children are dismissed through the main (flag pole entrance) at Lincoln School. Bus students are dismissed first and then walkers/car riders. If you need to pick up your child early from school, you must send in a note for place a phone call to the office. Since safety is my priority, I will not rely on a student's word. Also, please do not rely on email- sometimes I am absent and sometimes I am unable to get to my email until after the students leave.

Emergency Contact Information It is extremely important that emergency information be completed as accurately as possible and returned in a timely manner. Should any information change, please contact the school office as soon as possible so that we can ensure that you can be contacted in the event of an emergency. Any emergency information that you forward to me, I will also forward to the office.

Snack We do not have a snack time in 3rd grade! In regards to birthdays, we will be singing and celebrating each child's birthday. In lieu of birthday treats, families may donate a book to the classroom library or a game to the indoor recess shelf (please mark it “in lieu of xxx's birthday”, so we can think of your child each time we read/play!)

Toys and Personal Items We ask that all toys, figurines, stuffed animals, and other personal items be kept at home.

Lion Folders You should have received a letter prior to the school year of what your child needs to have in their Lion Folder. Please reinforce the importance of organization and reguarly check to make sure your child is keeping their folder neat. Homework folders are in the front of their Lion Folder and should contain any homework they have for the night. There is also a homework information paper in their Lion which should be signed nightly.

Friday Folders On Fridays your child will bring home a Friday Folder. These folders will contain all tests and graded information from the past week. A What's Coming Up Soon (WCUS) will be attached to these papers. The WCUS will list all the graded papers that should be in your child's folder. If there is a paper that is listed on the WCUS that is not in your child's folder, please contact me unless i have placed a note on their WCUS. Once you have reviewed the attached papers, please sign the top portion of the WCUS. The bottom portion of the WCUS should be detached and is yours to keep. The bottom portion will keep you informed of what is coming up in the next week! The top stapled portion, needs to be returned to school with your child on Monday. Any additional papers from PTO, etc. will also be in this folder. Please return any papers in this folder and we will make sure they get to where they need to be!

Excuse Blanks When your child is absent from school it is important that a note or an excuse blank is sent to school within a timely manner. If no excuse is provided, it will result in an unexcused absence. Multiple unexcused absences will result in truancy issues.
