School is just around the corner, I would like to introduce myself as your Kindergarten Teacher: Mrs. Mauro. You have been assigned to me as your homeroom teacher. There are four kindergarten teachers this year. Everything is almost ready! We have been working hard to get our classrooms ready for when you arrive on August 26 th!
I am excited to meet you and begin our year! This year I will begin my seventh year teaching! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Science, Technology & Society from Pennsylvania State University. I returned to school to attend Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and earned my Master of Education and Pennsylvania Teacher Certification with a concentration in Pre-K to grade 4.
I began my first long term substitute journey at Willow Lane! I was lucky to earn a permanent teaching position at Alburtis Elementary School. That is where I have spent the past few years teaching 4th grade. When an opportunity arose to return to Willow Lane and work in kindergarten I was thrilled! Since I am sharing a little about myself, I will tell you about my family. My husband Michael teaches 6th grade in East Penn. My children are Alexander and Madison. Alex graduated from Emmaus High School last year and Madison enters 11th grade this year. I look forward to meeting everyone and I can’t wait to begin this new adventure!
I want you to be prepared for school, so you should have received a letter in the mail. Enclosed are a list of the supplies that you will need for school this year. If your parents/guardians have any questions, they may email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. On evenings and weekends I will get back to you as soon as I can. Please let me know if you need any assistance acquiring school supplies. **See supply list below.
This is going to be a great year!
