Birthday Treat Policy

Jefferson Elementary School has adopted the East Penn School District’s birthday policy as of September 6, 2011. Yes, we still celebrate student birthdays and yes, we will still make each student feel special on their day. However, Jefferson will NO LONGER allow edible treats to be sent in and distributed. In place of food, we have come up with some examples of alternatives to send to celebrate your child’s birthday.

        pencils             stickers           erasers            bookmarks

You may also send in your child’s favorite book for the teacher to read to the class that day, or YOU may set up a time to visit and read.

Remember, no family is required to send items for the class on birthdays, this is just a change from our previous school birthday policy, and we wanted to inform each family.

Please feel free to contact Mrs. Scalzo or me with any questions about this new policy.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Quick reminder about birthday invitations:

Invitations will only be distributed to the entire class, all boys, or all girls.  If you are inviting a select group of students, please find an alternate way of getting those invitations to them.

(see student directory for phone numbers and addresses).
