Avi's childhood

Avi was born is New York City in 1937. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has a twin sister and a brother. Even when he was young, Avi liked to read.

How he got started

Avi wasn't the best student. He struggled in school even with special tutoring. After failing all of his high school courses, he went to a special school. He wanted to write like his family so bad, so he tried even harder in this school.

Avi's inspiration

His family inspires him. They were all very talented writers, and he wanted to write like them.

Why he became an author

Avi wanted to prove that he could write, after all of the special tutoring he recieved and the special schools he enrolled in.

Where Avi gets his ideas

Avi gets most of his ideas from his family and friends. He gets some of them himself, but his son and daughter have the neatest ideas.

What kinds of books Avi writes

He writes mostly adventures, mysteries, and thrillers, but he will write any kind of book. He just wants his readers to enjoy a good story.

 Interesting facts about Avi

• Avi had dysgraphia, which is a writing dysfunction where he misspells words and writes letters backwords. That is why he struggled in school so much.
• Avi is not his real name. His twin sister called him that when they were really young, and it stuck. Avi refuses to reveal his real name.
• Avi believes that the more you read, the better your writing can be. He also believes that people should think for themselves.
