The Information:
The life-
Although she now lives in Oregon, Susan Fletcher was born in Pasadena, California. This amazing author was born on May 28th, 1951; as the daughter of an engineer and a teacher. (Her father was the engineer and his mother was the teacher.) Susan Fletcher was married at age 26, on June 4th, 1977, to Jerry Fletcher(a marketing consultant). She has one daughter; and a cat named Nimbus, who is over 20 years old.
The start-
How did this author start, you may ask. Well, Fletcher was always at least somewhat interested about writting. Throughout her life, her many jobs included an editor and work for a magazine. As an editor, she usually corrected fiction articles.
Where do her ideas come from? What inspires her?
Fletcher's ideas and inspirations are very similar. They often come when she visits new places. These also come from thoughts about her heritage. This is partly explanatory to why Dragon Kyn takes place in an area similar to the Welsh countryside.
Why did Susan Fletcher decide to become an author?
Susan Fletcher had dreamed of being a writer since 3rd grade. Because it was in 3rd grade that she heard of Mark Twain-whos real name was Samuel Clemens- who had a daughter named Susan. Or more correctly: Susan Fletcher. Was it just a coincidence? Or was it fate?
What genre are the books Fletcher writes?
The genre of Susan Fletcher's books is usually fantasy. She also writes some more realistic books, but not as often. She often writes things that relate to her hereditary roots; or that interest her.
Other interesting facts:
Susan Fletcher is American, but has Welsh ancestors. She has a cat, named Nimbus, who is over 20 years old. When she was younger, Fletcher did much work as a fiction editor. She went to college; and recieved a B.A. & M.A. in English. And lastly, she helped teach in Vermont college's M.F.A. in writting for children program.
