Hello! Welcome to Macungie Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Smith, and I am happy to be the school counselor at Macungie. I love having the opportunity to help children and their families.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I began my career in eduction after receiving my B.S. from East Stroudsburg University. I then earned my MEd. in counseling from Lehigh University. Subsequently, I took some time off to devote to my wonderful husband and 3 awesome children. (Ok....so maybe I'm a little prejudiced. ;) ) I returned to education as a counselor, and I have been an elementary counselor for 16 years.
When I'm not in school, I have many other interests. I am learning to sing! (You're never too old to start somethng new!) I keep moving with exercise, e.g. walking with my dog, calisthenics, biking and tennis. I also enjoy the mental exercises of crossword puzzles, reading and some computer games. I find camping very relaxing, and many of our vacations have consisted of camping in the midst of beautiful sights.
It's going to be another exciting year. I look forward to working with our Macungie students, families and teachers!
