Good afternoon Alburtis Families,
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding at dismissal time during these first few weeks. We have ironed out a few wrinkles and both walker pick up and car rider pick up are flowing smoothly!
Thank you to ALL car rider parents for prominently displaying your child(ren)’s name placards in the front passenger side dashboard. This most definitely helps with the flow of traffic!
While Alburtis is a pet friendly school, I am asking that all parents please be sure to keep all pets on a leash at all times. We have experienced a few concerning situations with pets who have ‘escaped’ from their leash/harness which includes a safety concern at which a dog came toward another dog in an intimidating and aggressive manner. As you can appreciate, the safety of our students, and all Alburtis stakeholders, is our number one priority!
We continue to experience some bus behaviors and we will keep working with all bus riders on practicing their Bus Safety Cool Tools daily. Please remember, riding the bus is a privilege, not a right. In the event that a student receives 3 bus referrals, he/she will be removed from the bus until able to be a responsible and safe bus rider. Bus rules include:
- Sit down
- Sit back
- Sit in
- Use inside voice
- Voice turned off at railroad crossings
- Hands and feet are kept to oneself
- Keep aisles clear of all obstructions
- Use appropriate language (If you would not say it in front of mom or dad…please don’t say it…)
Thank you for reinforcing the safety rules with your bus riders.
It takes a village!
