Good evening Parents/Guardians,
I am writing to remind you of the personal electronic device policy here at the East Penn School District. Board Policy section 200 code 237 states the following:
“The board prohibits use of personal electronic devices by students during the school day in district buildings, on district property, during the time students are under the supervision of the district. Student’s may bring personal devices authorized by the building principal to and from school provided that they are turned off upon entering any school building and are properly stored during school hours in areas designated by the building principal. Violations of this policy by a student shall result in disciplinary action and confiscation of the personal electronic device. Confiscated items shall be returned to the students parent/guardian. Students are responsible for the safe storage of their devices that they choose to bring to school. The district shall not be liable or responsible for the loss or damage to any personal electronic devices.”
All students at Alburtis have been made aware of this policy and understand that their personal devices including cell phones and iPhone type watches must be turned off upon entering the school each day and stored in their lockers. Please note: In the event of policy violation their devices will be confiscated and parents/guardians will be required to come to the school to pick up the devices.
Thank you for your attention to this policy and also for reviewing this with your student this evening.
Mrs. Cheryl Scalzo, Principal
