Alburtis Elementary School Veteran’s Day Program
For the past few years the teachers, staff, and students at Alburtis Elementary school have put together an incredible in-school program to honor our Great Nation’s veterans of the past and present.
This year we are asking all Alburtis students to consider nominating a Hometown Hero who is or was a Veteran. Students are encouraged to think about a Hometown Hero who impacted their life in a positive way and create a Hometown Hero Poster (all paperwork was sent home with students on Monday, October 30). While this is an optional activity, we are strongly encouraging all of our Alburtis students to participate in this honorable activity. We also encourage you to take a few moments to sit down with your child(ren) and share the significance that our Veterans and Hometown Heroes play in our lives.
All Hometown Hero posters are due back to school no later than Thursday, November 9 as all posters will be proudly displayed in our school for our Veteran’s Day Program on Friday, November 10 and throughout the month of November.
You are cordially invited to attend our Veteran’s Day Program on Friday, November 10 at 2:00 PM in the Alburtis Elementary School Gymnasium and we encourage all Veterans to please join us as well. It is an honor to be able to celebrate all Veterans past and present. If you and/or a Veteran are able to join us for our Veteran’s Day Program please complete the RSVP form that was sent home on Monday, October 30 and return it to school with your Alburtis student on or before Wednesday, November 8.
*We will be providing snacks and beverages for all Veterans in attendance from 1:30-1:50, prior to the start of our program, which will begin promptly at 2:00PM. Please note, all students will report back to their classrooms at 2:45, following our program, to finish out and prepare for normal end of school day dismissal.
Thank you for supporting our Hometown Heroes and Alburtis Veteran’s Day program.
