The Emmaus High School Mock Trial team competed against 20 schools in Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties in the annual Mock Trial competition sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association. This is the third year Emmaus participated in the competition, which features students competing in roles as witnesses and lawyers, as they compete against other schools and present their cases before actual judges, and lawyers who serve as jurors. Emmaus was the only school to enter multiple teams, and both teams qualified to move on to the semifinal competition on February 10th. This was the first time in school history a team from Emmaus moved on to this round of competition. Both teams returned to compete on February 10th, and though neither moved on to the final round, the Emmaus teams finished in 3rd and 4th place, respectively. The team advisors, David Brown and Eric Luckenbill, are incredibly proud and impressed with the student work and accomplishment. A major thanks also goes out to Mr. Steven Zakos and Mr. David Ritter, who are residents of the East Penn School District and our attorney advisors who guided us throughout the process this year.
