Last week, Brent Haley and Jayne Espenshade took four EHS teams to Bloomsburg University to compete in the Husky Dog Pound, a spin-off of Shark Tank. The task was to have students pitch a business idea for 3 minutes and then a 5 minute Q&A from the judges. Judges were business professionals, corporate leaders, and business professors. The scoring was based on marketing, feasibility, and profitability. Kids that participated got a campus tour, a swag bag, coupon for the bookstore, and a fabulous lunch at the Scranton Commons– all you can eat college food! The top 30 winners won cash. Two of our teams came in the top 30! The following are the list of teams and their ideas:
#8-Emily Lopez and Matt Rodrigus–SeatDash (an app that will allow food runners to deliver food to your seat at stadiums)
#14 Gianna Balestracci– Grazie Bella (an Italian Bakery serving gluten free and vegan treats)
Conner Murray- Kamikaze Racing- (conforming regular cars into hot-rods)
Cole Scott and Hunter Ruth- Bay Side Pizza (OCMD’s first delivery on jet-skis to boats on the bay using an app and coordinates).
