During the months of January and February, the first, second, third, fourth and fifth grade students at Macungie Elementary participated in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Math-A-Thon. The students solved math problems and then asked family members, neighbors, etc. for donations for completing the problems. At the Tiger Time meeting in May, the students that raised the most money read essays as to why they worked so hard to raise money for the patients at St. Jude’s Hospital. Also, they announced the total amount of money that the first through fifth graders raised for St. Jude’s Hospital. This year, those students raised $6,451.21. Over the past twelve years, the students have raised over $40,000.00! Everyone at Macungie Elementary is so proud of the students for their fundraising efforts! Way-to-go, Tigers!
