As a part of the East Penn School District’s digital inclusion initiative, we want all of our students to have equitable access to Wi-Fi. If your student does not have Wi-Fi at home or they lack a reliable internet connection, please note the following options:
➞Checkout a Kajeet! Our district provides student access to Wi-Fi through hotspot devices called Kajeets. Kajeet is a prepaid wireless service provider that is specifically designed for children and teenagers. This device is a portable, palm-sized Wi-Fi transmitter that connects to 3G and 4G networks using Kajeet’s wireless service. Fast, reliable access to these materials is more important than ever, so that no one is left behind when it comes to bridging the digital divide. Kajeets can be signed out at your secondary school media center. Students must have signed permission from a parent/guardian.
➞Visit everyoneon.org to find out about low cost internet options for families that qualify.
➞Obtain free public wireless access. There are several public places and businesses in which you may obtain free public wireless access. There are also some apps you may download in order to find public WiFi in your area. For a Google Map of some of these locations, and a list of a few WiFi locator apps, visit our Internet Options: Public WiFi page on our district website.
➞Do you need help in helping your child navigate the internet? The Emmaus Public Library offers Digital Literacy Training sessions by appointment.
