The Emmaus High School Theater Department will present Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig. The play, an adaptation of the classic novel by Agatha Christie, will be presented on October 31 and November 1 and 2 at 7:00 PM in the EHS auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens, and can be reserved online via the EHS website beginning October 16. Tickets will also be available at the door. Senior citizen gold card holders may present gold cards in the EHS main office or at the door to receive a complimentary ticket to any performance.
Ken Ludwig’s clever adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic boasts all of the glamor, intrigue and suspense of Dame Agatha’s celebrated novel, with a healthy dose of humor to quicken the pace. Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of year, but by the morning it holds one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.
