On Friday, January 25th, all students in grades 9-11 will be making their course requests for the 2019-2020 academic school year. The day will begin with homeroom, in which students will receive course registration forms and instructions. Throughout the day, students will consult with their current year teachers to assist them in selecting courses that are the best match for their needs, abilities, and interests.
In early January, students received the EHS Program of Studies booklet, which contains information about graduation requirements and course offerings. This document is also available on our website. Additionally, our Program of Studies webpage contains videos and other resources that can assist your child in this process. We ask that you take some time to review these resources with your child prior to 1/25 and that he or she comes to school that day with a completed Scheduling Worksheet. The worksheet can be found on the internal back cover of their Program of Studies booklet.
Students who are absent on January 25th should visit the Counseling Office before school or during Flex period on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week to obtain their Course Registration forms and complete the recommendation process with their teachers. Forms are due for students who were absent on 1/25 by the end of the day on Wednesday, January 30th. School counselors will be in contact with students who have extended absences to assist them in completing this process.
A Course Request Verification document will be provided to students to take home in mid-March to confirm selected courses.
If you should have any questions during this process, please feel free to contact your child’s school counselor. Thank you!
