The 2017-2018 Student Parking Lottery Application for the junior class is now available online through the EHS Website and will remain open until 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 27th. Only students in the junior class who have a legal driver’s license, which MUST be valid as of Wednesday, November 1st, 2017, appropriate insurance, no severe disciplinary issues and have met all disciplinary and/or financial obligations will be eligible for the parking lottery. Students who do not have a valid license and have not met the additional requirements listed above will not be eligible to participate in the lottery. Due to the number of remaining parking permits available, 40 permits will be offered to the junior class. Therefore, not all students who apply will be guaranteed a parking permit. Permits will be issued based on a lottery drawing of all eligible applications. Furthermore, no requests for parking permits will be granted once the 40 permits have been issued through the lottery drawing.
Students should go to the Emmaus High School homepage, where you will find and click on the link for the junior parking lottery application. You will be asked to log-in using your East Penn School District email address and password. Log-in and fill out the form titled “EHS Junior Parking Application 2017-2018.” Please fill out the application and click Submit at the bottom of the page. Those students identified as eligible will receive a pass in their 1st period class on the morning of Wednesday, November 1st, which will invite them to the live lottery drawing that will be held in the auditorium during the Flex Block. Those identified as ineligible to participate in the parking lottery will receive an email stating the reason for their ineligibility. Should you be selected from the random drawing on November 1st, you will be given paperwork that you will have to complete and return in order to receive your permit. Upon receiving your permit, please remember to display it on the rearview mirror in your car at all times while parking in the appropriate assigned student parking lots on school property.
Only vehicles with EHS parking permits are allowed to park on school property in the designated student parking lots. The designated student parking lots are Lot I near the football field and the large parking lot on North Street across from the high school. Failure to obey the following regulations listed below or falsifying any information may result in the loss of parking privileges, ticketing by the Emmaus Police Department or towing at the owner’s expense and additional disciplinary action may be enforced, as prescribed in the Emmaus High School Discipline Code:
- Parking in unauthorized areas on school property, such as district personnel designated lots (restricted red permit zones), faculty/staff designated lots and spots designated for the handicapped, reserved spots or visitors spots.
- Parking on school property without an approved EHS parking permit designated for the current school year.
- Parking on school property with an unregistered vehicle.
- The loss of scheduled early dismissal privileges in addition to the loss of parking privileges may occur after a student’s 11th unauthorized late to school.
Should you have any questions throughout this process, please contact Ms. Rodriguez, Assistant Principal for the Class of 2018.
