Resources Overview
The Emmaus High School Library, located on the first floor of the high school, serves grades 9-12. It features 10 HP PCs arranged around two presentation areas and various print collections.
In total, the EHS Library houses a diverse collection of hardcover and paperback books (including a number of foreign language, lower lexile and picture book reads), eBooks, magazines, playaways, DVDS, and classroom performance tools. These, plus other resources available in the East Penn School District are searchable through Destiny, the district’s shared online catalog. The EHS Library also has a wide variety of subject-based subscription databases (EBSCO, Gale, Cavendish Square, Proquest, Salem and Infobase)-all of which can be accessed from home–the 2010 Microsoft Office Suite, and access to Power Library programs. The EPSD is part of the CLIU 21 Overdrive/SORA Consortium, so district patrons have a large assortment of online books and audiobooks available to them as well.
Lastly, the EHS Library includes a low-tech Maker Zone for patrons to satisfy academic or personal needs in the areas of puzzle-solving (standard and non-standard types), traditional gaming (chess, checkers and other board games), adult coloring, sewing/crocheting, basic construction, paper crafts (origami, stenciling and calligraphy, for example), nail art, duct tape art, button-making, etc.
