Lifeguard Course<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lifeguard Course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hello EHS!  The Lifeguarding Course will be offered again for the 2025-2026 school year.                                                                                             <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any current freshman that would like to take the lifeguarding course next year in place of their aquatics course or as an elective as well as any current sophomore or junior interested in taking lifeguarding as an elective next year please Fill out the lifeguard prerequisite form on your class schoology page.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be holding six pre-test sessions on January, 14th, 15th, 22nd, 23rd and 31st and on February 5th. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pass will be given to you during hornet homeroom to take the prerequisite tests in the pool on the date you sign up for.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Two prerequisite tests will include a\u00a0300-yard swim under ten minutes and treading water for two minutes without using your hands.<\/strong>\u00a0All aquatics swim attire guidelines are enforced for the tests.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have any questions, you can ask any health, wellness\/fitness teacher. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Army Corp Presentation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

EHS alumni, David Iobst, will be here on\u00a0Thursday, January 9\u00a0@ 10:00\u00a0<\/strong>to speak about his experience with the Army Corp of Cadets ROTC program at Virginia Tech.\u00a0 Students interested in attending the presentation should\u00a0sign up through Naviance or come to the counseling office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EHS Red Cross Club<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that a blood transfusion is needed every two seconds in the U.S.? EHS Red Cross Club is promoting Miller-Keystone Blood Donation Centers. If you donate blood and have proof, come to room 16 (Montepeque) for a bag of candy! Additionally, you\u2019ll get a T-shirt from Miller-Keystone at the donation site.  See the fliers posted around the school to scan the QR code for more information.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peer Tutoring<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in meeting with a tutor, please complete the 2024-25 Student Tutoring Request Form<\/a>.\u00a0 Peer Tutoring will be offered during HHR on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Library.\u00a0 Please visit your \u201cClass of\u201d Schoology Group for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

School Store<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Attention Hornets! School Store is open\u00a0Tuesday through Friday blocks 1-4 and closed during homeroom. Students should visit during Study Halls only and obtain\u00a0a special pass through\u00a0their study\u00a0hall proctors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After School Homework Help <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

EHS is offering free after-school help twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 2024). Teachers will be available to help with homework, studying for exams, or improving the understanding of course material. Taking advantage of this resource can make a significant difference in academic performance and overall confidence at school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teachers will be available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 -3:30 in the EHS library. They are happy and excited to help students succeed in their classes for the remainder of the school year.  Students do NOT need to sign up in advance. They just need to come to the library at 2:30 and make sure they have transportation home at 3:30.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late\u00a0Bus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sign up online using\u00a0the\u00a0Late\u00a0Bus\u00a0Google Form<\/a> in Schoology under\u00a0the Materials section<\/strong>\u00a0or on the EHS website under Morning Announcements, there is a link under the\u00a0Late\u00a0Bus\u00a0post.\u00a0The\u00a0late\u00a0bus\u00a0will run Tuesdays and Thursdays\u00a0through the end of May<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chromebook \/ IT Help<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The IT department will hold Chromebook support for students during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 \u2013 10:55) and from 2 to 2:25 pm outside the library entrance.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

** Thursdays only<\/u>, there will be NO tech support during Hornet homeroom, ONLY AT 2-2:25PM <\/u>**<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
