Good Evening, this is Mr. Kelly, Principal of Eyer Middle School with two important announcements for all parents/guardians.
Over the past week, pods have sent notifications to parents and guardians, which communicate whether or not a parent-teacher conference has been requested. Although we welcome any parent who would like to meet with their child’s teachers, at the middle level, not all parents are required to schedule and attend a conference. Our teachers have requested that parents of students who are struggling to meet academic or behavioral goals, please schedule a parent-teacher conference.
Parent-teacher conferences will take place on Wednesday, February 6, and Thursday, February 7th. Parents may sign-up for a conference using sign-up genius. To access the sign-up genius webpage, please go www.tinyurl.com/eyerwinter2019. If you have difficulty accessing this webpage and would like to schedule a conference, please contact our guidance office at 610-965-1605. Parent-teacher conference information will also be available on the Eyer Webpage and social media feeds. The second announcement is that on January 14th, Pennsylvania launched the “Safe2Say Something” anonymous reporting system. This program, which is mandated under PA state law / Act 44, teaches students, teachers, and administrators how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and Say Something to a trusted adult OR use its anonymous reporting system. This week, I will be meeting with each grade level to provide an overview of the Safe2Say Something program and reporting system. The presentation for sixth and eighth-grade students will be on Thursday, while the presentation for seventh-grade will be Friday.
