It is Day 6 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/10af6JOSyxf1CYze0reqHqLXlDyZmjNAZ\/view?usp=sharing\"><strong>Student Council October Spirit Week<\/strong><\/a><strong> &#8211; SAVE THE DATES<\/strong> &#8211; Our first Spirit Week of the 2025\u201326 school year will take place Monday, October 6th through Friday, October 10th! You can find more information about the daily Spirit Week themes via the link at the heading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Student Council Fall Fest <\/strong>&#8211; Fall Fest is back! Interested students can join us on Friday, October 10, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM for an after school social activity sponsored by Student Council. Attendees will experience an afternoon filled with carnival games, athletic challenges, inflatables, a DJ, and plenty of non-digital fun with peers! Tickets will be on sale for $7 during all lunches from October 6\u201310. Fall Fest is a student favorite, a perfect way to celebrate the season and have fun together as we transition from summer to fall!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eyer Night at the Phantoms <\/strong>&#8211; Join us for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofevo.com\/event\/Eyermiddle3\">Eyer Night at the Lehigh Valley Phantoms<\/a> on Saturday, November 29th! The evening will begin with a special performance by the Eyer Choir Ensemble singing the National Anthem before the game. Families and students are encouraged to coordinate ticket purchases to sit together, and for every ticket sold, Eyer will receive $5 back. Proceeds directly support the Eyer PTO. Plus it\u2019s Gritty Night at the Phantoms, so fans will also get to enjoy a visit from the Flyers\u2019 beloved mascot, Gritty!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8th Grade Art Contest<\/strong> &#8211; Eyer Art Department Presents the 8th Grade Student Art Contest! This contest is open to all 8th grade students who are interested in showcasing their artistic talent. Interested students should see Mr. Willett in Room 222 for more details about the contest. Four participants will win a FREE 10 Week Art Course at the Baum School of Art as a prize for their outstanding submissions. Don\u2019t miss this exciting opportunity to enhance your artistic skills and earn a fantastic reward!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lions Club Peace Poster Art Contest <\/strong>\u2013 The Eyer Art Department is excited to announce the 2025 Lions Club Peace Poster Contest! Student artists have the chance to win prize money for First, Second, and Third place, as well as a free dinner for you and your family. Students interested in participating, please reach out to Mr. Willett in Room 222 for further details and to collect your poster paper. We can\u2019t wait to see your creativity in action!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hispanic Heritage Month Guacamole Workshop<\/strong> &#8211; Mr. Solano will be hosting a hands-on cooking experience on October 7th during 9th Period, where interested students will learn how to make their own fresh guacamole! \ud83e\udd51 Guided by the owner and head chef of Lu Taqueria in Bethlehem, participants will explore the ingredients, techniques, and rich flavors behind this classic dish. Space is limited, students who would like to participate should sign up in the Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STEM in the Library Activity<\/strong> &#8211; Join Mr. Solano in the Library for an exciting hands-on science experiment with local scientist Brooke Coonrod on October 10th during 9th Period! \ud83d\udd2c Students will discover how everyday items, like a potato, can create electricity to power a light bulb or even a small propeller. This fun, interactive activity is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about chemical reactions. Space is limited, students who would like to participate should sign up in the Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chili Cook Off and Craft Fair <\/strong>&#8211;&nbsp; Get your spoons ready! Eyer\u2019s annual Chili Cook-Off and Craft Fair is Saturday, November 15th from 11 am to 2 pm. This year we\u2019re pairing the fun with our fall play matinee! During this time, 20% of all sales will be donated back to the Eyer PTO, no flyer needed! Stop by to show your support!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6th Grade Drama Club<\/strong> &#8211; Want to boost your confidence, learn acting skills, and have a blast? Join the 6th Grade Drama Club! No experience is required, just bring your energy and excitement. You\u2019ll make friends, discover your inner star, and get ready for future theatre opportunities. Drama Club meets in room 503 on Thursdays. Drama Club: Where 6th graders become STARS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chess Club<\/strong> &#8211; Join us if you love chess and want to play or learn how to.&nbsp; All levels welcome! We will meet on Thursdays&nbsp;after school. Space is limited, so if you are interested or&nbsp;have any questions, see Mrs. Mendez in room 650 and sign up. We look forward to seeing you there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crochet Club <\/strong>\u2013 Students interested in learning the art of crochet in a fun, welcoming space can do so after school on Tuesdays in room 610. Whether you\u2019re a beginner or already know a few stitches, you\u2019ll create projects you can be proud of. To join, pick up a permission slip in the Guidance Office. We are always accepting fiber donations if any family has yarn to spare. Donations could be brought to the Main Office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Four Square Club<\/strong> &#8211; The Eyer Four Square Club will begin meeting after school on Thursdays, (weather permitting). \ud83c\udf1f Spaces are limited, so be sure to sign up with Mrs. Gaines in the Main Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kid to Kid Jr<\/strong> &#8211; New 7th and 8th grade students that are interested in joining Kid to Kid, the first meeting will be after school&nbsp;on Thursday, September 18th. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hackman or Mrs. Snow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mathcounts Club<\/strong> \u2013 Mathcounts is a national middle school program that makes math engaging and fun through enrichment, coaching, and competitions. Eyer\u2019s Mathcounts team kicks off the season today, Thursday, September 18th! Students interested in participating should stop by Mrs. Hummell\u2019s Room 507 for meeting dates and more details. If you enjoy solving math problems and puzzles, working on a team, and competing while building new skills, this is the club for you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Multicultural Club<\/strong> \u2013 Celebrate diversity by learning about and sharing traditions, cultures, and perspectives from around the world on Thursdays in room 111<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reading Olympics Team<\/strong> &#8211; Love to read? Want to discuss books and play some fun trivia games? Then you should join the Reading Olympics Club! We meet two or three times a month and will be preparing for a regional competition at the end of the school year. You can read as much or as little as you like, so come on and get in on the fun! Ready to join? Sign up outside Room 636.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Walking Club<\/strong> &#8211; \ud83d\udeb6\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\ud83d\udeb6 Stop by the Main Office to sign up and pick up a permission slip to walk off campus. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Writer\u2019s Club <\/strong>&#8211; We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 635. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yearbook Club<\/strong> will be starting up in October. Please stop by the Counseling Office to pick up an application. Completed and signed applications must be turned in by October 6th. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Eustice in the Counseling Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RECURRING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chromebooks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students should develop a consistent routine to charge their Chromebooks every night to ensure they\u2019re prepared for class each day. Creating a plan, such as designating a specific charging spot and setting a reminder before bedtime, can help make this habit stick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Late Bus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lost &amp; Found<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stay Connected<\/strong> &#8211; The Eyer Middle School Administration strives to keep the entire school community informed through various resources, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastpennsd.org\/eyer\/\">Eyer Website<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EPSDEyer\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EPSDEyer\">X<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/epsdeyer\/\">Instagram<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastpennsd.org\/eyer\/about-us\/principal\/\">Weekly Update<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weis4School Rewards Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Weis4School Rewards Program allows schools to earn funds to support their programs when families shop at Weis.
