It is Day 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EPSD January Calendar Update <\/strong>&#8211; As a reminder, the East Penn School District will be closed on Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Red Out Spirit Day<\/strong> &#8211; Students and staff are encouraged to participate in a <strong><em>Red Out on Friday, January 16th<\/em><\/strong> in support of Eyer alumnus and current Indiana Hoosier, Mario Landino, as he prepares to compete in the NCAA National Championship Game on Monday, January 19th. Let\u2019s come together as one school community and show our support for Mario and his teammates as they compete for the national title<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>25-26 Yearbook Sales<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Yearbook Sales Are Open! The 25\u201326 Eyer Yearbook is officially on sale! We are excited to continue our partnership with Christmas City Studios, allowing us to produce our yearbooks locally and include more spring activities than ever before. There are two different Cover Options, Soft Cover ($29) and Hard Cover ($36). The yearbooks are only available online via the Christmas City Studios website (<a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/339svee8\">https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/339svee8<\/a>). The deadline for sales is February 28. No books will be available for purchase in-person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yearbook Cover Design Contest <\/strong>&#8211; Attention Eyer Artists!\u00a0 Do you have an eye for design? Do you like to draw or paint? The Yearbook Club is taking submissions for the annual Cover Contest. The winning design will be the front cover and a runner-up may be chosen for the back cover. Submissions should be on approximately 8.5&#8243;x11&#8243; paper and done by hand. Please turn in your submissions to the Counseling Office by\u00a0<strong>Friday, March 6th.<\/strong>\u00a0See Ms. Eustice in the Counseling Office with any questions or to see prior yearbook covers for examples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Track Informational Meeting<\/strong>&#8211; There will&nbsp;be an informational&nbsp;meeting on Wednesday, January&nbsp;21st at 2:45 pm in the cafeteria for all 7th and 8th grade&nbsp;students that are interested in trying out for the track and field&nbsp;team. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spring Sports Sign Ups <\/strong>&#8211; The EPSD <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSd-NBDCBCr08V_rKvQivIZvacLqzrcn7z4kqWQ3odPm-_HMsg\/viewform?usp=publish-editor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spring Sports 25-26 Sign-up<\/a> Google Form is live and accepting sign ups from students and families interested in participating in Spring Athletics<strong>. The Lehigh University Computer Science Department is hosting an interactive workshop where students will use tablets to code and control robots as they knock down bowling pins. You\u2019ll learn the basics of block coding, work through challenges, and collaborate with friends, all while competing for the perfect strike. Interested students should sign up in the Library. Space is limited, so don\u2019t wait!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PAWS Cookie Day &#8211; <\/strong>Our next PAWS Cookie Day will be held on Friday, January 30th. Students who are sporting the school colors will be rewarded with a cookie of their choice during lunch. If you\u2019d like to support this tradition, you can donate at any time via the Eyer Connection Venmo: @Eyer-Connection (please label your donation \u201cCookie Day\u201d). Thank you for helping keep this annual tradition going for our students!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Class of 2030 EHS Welcome Night&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Current 8th grade students and their families are invited to attend the EHS 9th Grade Family Welcome Night on Wednesday, January 14th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During the event, families and students can view presentations from the EHS Administration and Guidance Office, as well as explore Emmaus High School through self-guided tours. Additional details were shared with all families via School Messenger and are also available on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastpennsd.org\/eyer\/article\/family-welcome-night-class-of-2030\/\">Eyer Website<\/a>. We will meet on Thursdays&nbsp;after school in room 650.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crochet Club&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Students interested in learning the art of crochet in a fun, welcoming space can do so after school on Tuesdays in room 610. Whether you\u2019re a beginner or already know a few stitches, you\u2019ll create projects you can be proud of. To join, pick up a permission slip in the Guidance Office. We are always accepting fiber donations if any family has yarn to spare. Donations could be brought to the Main Office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Four Square Club<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The Eyer Four Square Club will begin meeting after school on Thursdays. Spaces are limited, so be sure to sign up with Mrs. Gaines in the Main Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mathcounts Club<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Mathcounts is a national middle school program that makes math engaging and fun through enrichment, coaching, and competitions. Students interested in participating should stop by Mrs. Hummell\u2019s Room 507 for meeting dates and more details. If you enjoy solving math problems and puzzles, working on a team, and competing while building new skills, this is the club for you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Multicultural Club<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Celebrate diversity by learning about and sharing traditions, cultures, and perspectives from around the world on Thursdays in room 111<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reading Olympics Team<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Love to read? Want to discuss books and play some fun trivia games? Then you should join the Reading Olympics Club! We meet two or three times a month and will be preparing for a regional competition at the end of the school year. You can read as much or as little as you like, so come on and get in on the fun! Ready to join? Sign up outside Room 636.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Walking Club<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 \ud83d\udeb6\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\ud83d\udeb6 Stop by the Main Office to sign up and pick up a permission slip to walk off campus. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RECURRING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chromebooks<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Students should develop a consistent routine to charge their Chromebooks every night to ensure they\u2019re prepared for class each day. Creating a plan, such as designating a specific charging spot and setting a reminder before bedtime, can help make this habit stick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Late Bus<\/strong>&nbsp;The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lost &amp; Found<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weis4School Rewards Program<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The Weis4School Rewards Program allows schools to earn funds to support their programs when families shop at Weis.
