LMMS Parents & Guardians –
Under normal circumstances and during a traditional school year, our LMMS team prepares for a large number of parents who wish to drop-off and pick-up their middle school children. As you can appreciate, since Covid-19, we find ourselves in a position where even larger quantities of families are choosing to transport their children daily. We foresee that our parking lot will be an area of congestion and we are urging all families to use caution and patience as they enter and exit our school grounds.
When dropping off your children in the morning, please note:
- Our LMMS doors will not open until 7:15 AM.
- Please keep your children in the car with you while you are waiting for the school doors by the gym/auditorium entrance to open. We do not want students to be congregating outside of the building unsupervised or without proper social distancing.
- Continue to follow the normal pattern of one-lane for drop-off along the gym/auditorium side of the school.
- 4-5 LMMS staff members will be outside along the drop-off area:
- Please follow all of their directions
- Be patient with other parents and staff
- Use low speeds when entering and exiting the drop-off area
- Cars must pull all the way up to the end of the drop-off area in order to allow for a larger quantity of cars to unload at one time:
- Do not stop right in front of the doors to let your child out of the car – continue to pull forward until you are directed to stop by a staff member
- Be patient and wait for the car in front of you to pull away – safety is our top priority
When picking-up your children in the afternoon, please note:
- Students will be dismissed between 2:15-2:25 PM.
- 4-5 staff members will be outside supporting pick-up
- Directing vehicles
- Ensuring students are supervised and socially distancing
- Please do not block the bus entrance/exit while you are waiting in line.
- 4-5 staff members will be outside supporting pick-up
- Please wait patiently in the parent pick-up lines (we create 2 lines at pick-up) and move forward gradually towards the gym/auditorium doors.
- Students are asked to wait on the sidewalk closest to the gym/auditorium until you pull up and they are able to get into your car.
- We do not want students crossing the road in the parking lot or walking along roadways to meet you at a different location.
- We ask students to stay down by the gym/auditorium doors and meet you further down by the school so that we are not continually stopping traffic movement for students hopping into cars further back in line – this is what most often causes back-ups in our process
- After your child is in your vehicle, please carefully pull out of the pick-up lines and proceed slowly towards our exit.
- Again, patience is key – especially the first few weeks as new students and parents begin to learn our routines and expectations at LMMS
