The Symposium is a collaborative effort between EPSD School Counselors, EPSD School Psychologists and Communities in Schools of the Lehigh Valley. The event is geared to the parents of children in grades K-12 and is meant to be a resource for the families in the community. Parents are invited to come learn about pressing topics pertinent to children today and to leave the Symposium with practical tools and information that they can utilize.
The Symposium will feature two session times that will offer several different topics for parents to choose from. All topics will be offered in both Session 1 and Session 2. The third and final session will contain several mini-panel discussions composed of participating presenters and will allow for interactive learning. The 2020 MH Symposium topics will include parenting and coparenting practices, child anxiety, adolescent anxiety, sleep and electronics addiction, vaping, trauma, cyberbullying/cyber safety, mindfulness, and bullying. Presenters from a variety of professional settings including community agencies, psychiatrists, school counselors, and school psychologists will be represented.
