The safety of our students and staff is at the forefront of all that we do. Understanding that the traffic on Route 100 will become even more congested as we move to 5 days (combining our A and B cohorts), we have decided to change our parent drop-off area. If you drop off your child in the morning, please pull up along the curb in front of the school (where we have parent pick-ups). Drop offs begin at 8:45AM (this did not change).
For both parent pick-up and drop-off, we will have cones lined up to guide traffic. You will now be required to stay in the car line (between the cones and the curb) until the cars ahead of you move. Please DO NOT go around other cars to get out of the line.
We ask that you also not exit your vehicle; a teacher will supervise your child(ren) while he/she exits and enters your vehicle. We will not open the door, so please instruct your child to do so. All children must exit and enter on the curb side of the car. Please make sure that your child(ren) is ready to go in the morning: backpacks closed, mask on, jackets on, etc.
PARENT PICK-UP TIMES – VERY IMPORTANT – BEGINNING APRIL 6TH
It is vital that you adhere to our parent pick-up times in order to avoid major traffic back ups on Route 100! We are asking the families of our youngest students to arrive first. If you have more than one child at Shoemaker, siblings in older grades will be asked to join younger siblings when they are called. I have outlined a strict time schedule below for grade-level pick-ups. Once again, if you have more than one child at Shoemaker, please arrive at the time indicated for your youngest child.
BEGINNING 4/6/2021: PLEASE PICK UP YOUR CHILD(REN) AT THIS TIME:
Grades k and 1 – 2:45PM
Grades 2 and 3 – 2:50PM
Grades 4 and 5 – 2:55PM
Thank you for your understanding and attention to our new procedures.
