Good afternoon Parents and Students,
It has been brought to my attention that some of our Shoemaker students have been utilizing their district issued iPads for personal use, and/or inviting students to join Zoom meetings that are not intended for them. At the start of each school year, parents and students agreed to the terms set forth on our East Penn Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), Board Policy 815, which can be found on the East Penn website under Board Policies.
This policy clearly states that the East Penn School District is allowing students to borrow a district owned iPad to use as an educational tool and that private use such as gaming, texting, chatting, cyberbullying, etc are prohibited. District issued iPads should be utilized for school/educational purposes only. Private chatting (on all platforms including Zoom) on district issued iPads is strictly prohibited.
Please remember that inappropriate or illegal activity or use of district issued iPads can result in loss of access privileges and/or disciplinary action.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you so much,
