Originally dedicated on November 16, 1966, Wescosville School began as a K-6 school. Within five years, the grade configuration changed to K-3. PTO Winter Family Fun Night will be held at Independence Family Fun Center on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 with a snow date of Friday, March 12, 2010. Purchase tickets in advance by Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010. Questions contact Joanie Sexton, jyns@rcn.com or Lisa Renschen, renschen@ptd.net. No vacation requests will be granted during the three weeks of PSSA administration. PSSA's for Reading and Math will be given April 12 - 16, Writing April 19 - 23, and Science April 26 - 30. Wescosville School uses Bethany Church at 1208 Brookside Road, Wescosville, PA 18106 as their emergency evacuation site. Parents should have ID with them when picking up their child at the pick up area or at the office. Also, if parents are having someone else pick up their child a note should be sent in stating who is picking the child up and they too should have ID with them. Classroom celebration policies for the 2009/2010 school year: 1. No unannounced edible treats from parents can be served in the classroom. 2. Birthday celebrations that involve edible treats will occur once every month for each classroom. The teacher will choose the monthly date and the nurse will be notified. The teacher and nurse will determine the foods that will be brought to the party by distributing a parent sign-up sheet listing the items that have been selected. 3. The nurse must be made aware of foods that are served in the classroom (i.e. pizza parties, ice cream parties). 4. If a parent wants their child's birthday recognized on their actual birth date, they may send non-food items to be distributed. |
