Welcome to W.E.S. 2020-2021!
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! It has been a very productive summer ; welcomed new faculty and staff members; and prepared to kick off another ‘owl’standing school year.
This year we will once again focus on SOARing with your child as we continue with our hugely successful School Wide Positive Behavior System (SWPBS – pronounced ‘swibs’). Here at Wescosville, positive reinforcement affirms what our students are doing right. It increases the likelihood that positive behaviors will be repeated. It supports our students’ positive deeds and qualities through enthusiasm, descriptive encouragement, and natural, logical rewards. From our buses, to our cafeteria, through our halls, and in our classrooms, we will once again SOAR through this new school year!
This year we will continue to enhance SWPBS by introducing, Have You Filled a Bucket Today?: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids by Carol McCloud. The book “encourages positive behavior as children see how very easy and rewarding it is to express kindness, appreciation, and love on a daily basis.” From FISH! to SWPBS and now to Filling Buckets, we will continue working toward making the world a better place to be!
Always remember, as parents your ideas and support are valuable to our progress. I encourage you to become involved in our school and to help us SOAR. Together we will reach new heights!
