Dear Alburtis Elementary Families,
It is an honor and a privilege to share that I have completed the transition to Alburtis and our team is ready to SOAR into the 2016-2017 school year!
This school year begins my 22nd year as an educator and my 21st year as an educator in the East Penn School district. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in elementary education with a concentration in Early Childhood learning from Kutztown University. I began my educational journey as a classroom teacher at Kings Highway Elementary School where I taught first and second grades. I transitioned to Wescosville Elementary School where I taught second and third grades. I continued my education and earned a Master’s of Science degree in Elementary Education from Kutztown University. I then decided that 30 children a year was just not enough so I pursued the principalship. I earned my Principal Certification from Penn State University and am currently in the final stages of earning my Doctorate of Education from Walden University. As a primary level teacher, the perfect opportunity to move to a principal position arose when the East Penn School District opened the Kindergarten center in 2006. For two amazing years I had the opportunity to lead a school filled with stellar Kindergarten teachers and 300+ little people who made every day the best possible day! Most recently, I spent 8 glorious years as the Principal at Jefferson Elementary School. My experiences at Jefferson were nothing less than life changing. I had the opportunity to build strong relationships with an incredible community of students, parents, teachers and staff. Again, I find myself presented with the perfect opportunity to grow as a leader, as I begin my journey as the instructional leader and Principal at Alburtis Elementary School. As a former student at Alburtis, many moons ago, I feel like I have returned home.
I spent a great deal of time at the close of the past school year as well as throughout this summer getting to know the teachers and staff at Alburtis. What I have learned in this short amount of time is remarkable. Team Alburtis is built of high quality, dedicated, caring, sincere and empathetic professionals who I am proud to be a part of. Together, Team Alburtis is committed to building a strong foundation for our students based upon high academic expectations. We will achieve this goal by providing a safe, responsible, and respectful learning environment which in turn will build a positive school climate and culture for our students. Team Alburtis is committed to all the following:
- Academic excellence with data driven decision making as a key factor
- Clear, consistent, positive and open communication with all stakeholders- our doors are always open to students, parents, community and one-another
- School Wide Positive Behavior with a focus on character education
- Positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Strong community relationships
- High expectations for all!
A special thank you goes out to the entire Alburtis Team; teachers, staff, students, parents and community for welcoming me, my husband, and my five children into this outstanding school and community.
We are looking forward to a not only successful 2016-2017 school year but a long lasting relationship filled with collaboration, cooperation, communication and community!
Please know that my open door policy applies to all Alburtis stakeholders. Please feel free to reach out via email at email@example.com or by phone 610.965.1633 at any time. Your feedback is appreciated and welcomed!
