Virtual Parent Education Series on Youth Suicide Prevention

This FREE 5-part virtual series will introduce parents/caregivers to:

  • Youth suicide prevention, awareness and resources
  • Provide information as to what suicide looks like in the Lehigh Valley
  • Provide a framework for the interconnectedness of mental health and substance use and abuse
  • Provide an overview of “Question, Persuade, Refer”, a suicide prevention training
  • A portrait of trauma and how it affects our children.

JOIN US for one or all five modules. Each virtual session will utilize the Zoom electronic platform or you can dial into the session. Sessions will take place from 6:00pm-7:00pm (presentation will occur from 6:00pm-6:45pm with Q&A discussion from 6:45pm-7:00pm.

We understand this is a highly sensitive topic and a breakout room will be available for those who would like to speak with a mental health professional during the presentation.

A parent and student tell their story of struggle and resilience. Learn about Aevidum – A School based organization that empowers youth to shatter the silence surrounding depression, suicide, and other issues facing teens. Aevidum inspires schools and communities to adopt cultures of care and support.

Individual trauma results from an event, series of events, or set of circumstances experienced by an individual as physically or emotionally harmful or life-threatening with lasting adverse effects on the individual’s functioning and mental, physical, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being. Learn about trauma informed approaches and resilience building and what we can do as parents.
