It is my honor to welcome you to Lower Macungie Middle School, home of the Hornets! Here at LMMS, we serve approximately 1,200 students in grades 6-8. Lower Macungie Middle School has a very dedicated and caring staff who seek to make a daily difference in the lives of all our students. We offer a rigorous academic program that includes a comprehensive network of student support systems designed to improve learning and growth. Through our collaborative interdisciplinary teams we design unique academic experiences to meet the needs of each of our students. We also provide distinct intervention and enrichment programs throughout the day, and offer many extracurricular activities and sports programs after school. We ask that you encourage your student to participate in the great programs the school offers.
Our school focus includes creating a positive, safe, and secure learning environment where students can grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally. Our staff and students recognize the LMMS fundamentals of SHARP Behavior (Successful, Helpful, Aware, Respectful, Proud ) and we reinforce these attributes throughout the school year. The LMMS staff believes that school connectedness and having students embrace being a family is critical to building a supportive and trusting school culture.
In order to maximize student success, we continue to invite, encourage, and build strong parent and community partnerships. We believe that we are stronger together as a learning community, and that our team efforts help prepare our students for their high school experience and ultimately college and career readiness. We invite you to join our Parent Teacher Organization and become inolved in the great programs and support opportunities available to your child here at school.
