Administration

Mrs. Sallie Yencho

Lower Macungie Middle School Principal

I am honored to be serving my sixth year as your principal of LMMS for the 2024–2025 academic year. This is my 27th year in education, and I have been employed by the East Penn School District for twenty-two of these years. My journey within this district began as an elementary teacher at Jefferson Elementary School where I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students prior to making a shift to educational leadership as the Principal of Macungie Elementary, where I spent four impactful years before joining my current LMMS family.
At the core of my educational philosophy is a firm belief that every student can excel given the right environment and support. I am passionate about fostering a positive learning atmosphere that nurtures deep understanding and personal growth. My leadership is built on the foundation of strong community engagement, a committed educational team, and supportive families who play pivotal roles in our students’ success.

Here at LMMS, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where each student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. Together with our enthusiastic faculty and staff, we strive to cultivate a culture of academic excellence, character development, and lifelong learning.

Outside of school, you will find me spending time with my husband and two children traveling, walking our miniature goldendoodle named Charlie, exploring new restaurants, hiking, and hanging out with friends.

I am excited to continue our journey of educational excellence at Lower Macungie Middle School for the upcoming year, where every day presents an opportunity to inspire and empower our students towards a brighter future.

Dr. Heather Slatoff

LMMS Assistant Principal

I am honored to serve as an Assistant Principal at Lower Macungie Middle School, where I have been part of the community since 2007. Initially joining as a 6th grade teacher, I later transitioned to teaching 8th grade science, sharing my passion for Earth Science with my students. In 2018, I embraced the opportunity to move into administration, continuing my commitment to education in a new capacity.

As a lifelong learner, I am dedicated to my own professional growth and the development of our school and district. I recently earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership, which deepens my understanding of effective educational practices. I believe in engaging and inspiring students while supporting teachers and staff in their professional journeys.

In my spare time, I am passionate about biking, exploring new trails, and enjoying the great outdoors. Gardening is one of my favorite hobbies; there’s nothing quite like cooking with fresh ingredients straight from my garden. I cherish quality time with my friends and family, whether we’re sharing a meal or going on adventures together. And, of course, my dog Gunther is my loyal companion, always ready for a walk or a fun day out. Outside of school, I am dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being through various committees. With a passion for fostering supportive environments, I work collaboratively to enhance resources and programs that benefit all members of the community. I believe in the importance of mental wellness and I am committed to advocating for initiatives that empower individuals and promote a culture of understanding and support.of our community.

Ms. Tabitha Rodriguez

LMMS Assistant Principal

I am excited and honored to be the new Assistant Principal at Lower Macungie Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year. Before joining this amazing team at LMMS, I served as an Assistant Principal at Emmaus High School for 9 years. Bringing 20 years of experience in education to the role, my career began as a Spanish teacher for students in grades 9-12 in New Jersey, where I spent 11 years before shifting into the realm of educational leadership.

On a personal level, I enjoy spending time with my mom and my two very cute and feisty miniature pinschers, Olivia and Phoebe, attending Zumba classes, both as a student and an instructor, working out, and catching up with my dearest friends and family on a regular basis.

I look forward to getting to know everyone at LMMS, and working collaboratively with our families, core team, faculty, and staff to ensure our students THRIVE in the HIVE academically, personally, and socially. I wish everyone a fantastic and successful school year!!!
