Dear Macungie Elementary Families,
It is a pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to you as we get ready to begin the 2017-2018 school year. We have had so much fun learning and growing together over the past two years here at Macungie, and I am excited to start the new year! Macungie is a place where strong connections are made between home and school, and where all staff members are committed to developing the whole child. I value both of these characteristics and am excited to help continue moving our school along this path of excellence. For me, the first day of school can’t get here fast enough as I am eager to get back to work with all 480 students in grades K-5!
I drive approximately five minutes to work each day, as my family lives nearby in Lower Macungie! My daughter, Hannah, will be starting 8th grade at Eyer this year, and my son, Lucas, will be in 7th grade at Eyer. I love the fact that I am not only be able to interact and communicate with the students and families here at Macungie Elementary during the day, but as many of you know, you will see me out and about in the community as well. Don’t forget to say hello if you see me at a sporting event, in the grocery store, and out at restaurants!
I promise to continue working diligently with parents and faculty to foster an atmosphere that promotes a positive learning community; characterized by student-centered instruction and decisions, academic excellence, trust, respect, community involvement, excellent communications, and recognition of both student and staff achievement. I am committed to working in collaboration with you to continue to develop and implement this shared vision. Working together as a team, we will move forward in our mission this school year to create a safe, nurturing, disciplined and challenging environment in which all students can learn at optimum levels and become responsible members of society. Macungie has so much to be proud of as a staff, family, and community, and I am honored and excited to continue my journey alongside of all of you – Let’s make it a great year!
