Dear Shoemaker Families and Community Members,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself and greet you as the new Principal of Shoemaker Elementary School. I am honored and excited to join this wonderful community, and the home-school partnerships that have clearly shaped the school culture. As the new instructional leader, I look forward to supporting the staff in all that they do to provide a top-notch education for our students. I would like to thank you for your warm welcome and take this opportunity to introduce you to my family and myself.
My husband and I live in Bangor with our two dogs, and recently enjoyed the wedding of our daughter, who lives in Alexandria, VA with her new husband. While I was born in upstate New York, my formative years were spent in Zaandam, Netherlands and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I moved to the United States, specifically New York City, after graduating high school, and lived in Columbus, Ohio prior to moving to Pennsylvania over twenty years ago.
This is a homecoming for me, as my first thirteen years in education were spent as a teacher in the East Penn School District. I taught kindergarten at Lower Macungie Elementary School, first grade at Willow Lane Elementary School, as well as fourth grade and Instructional Support (IST) for several years at Alburtis Elementary School. I spent the last two years as the Principal of the Arts Academy Elementary School.
Shoemaker Elementary School’s teachers and staff encourage all students to reach their full potential by providing a learning environment that is caring, safe, nurturing, positive, and respectful. We are committed to providing innovative and differentiated learning opportunities that meet the needs of all of our students. We are proud to collaborate with our families and community on all that enriches student learning.
I am committed to continuing Shoemaker’s collaborative learning community with consistent, honest, and open communication with all stakeholders. It is my belief that responsible social media is a tool that can keep our Shoemaker family connected and up to date on all that is happening in our school community. With that in mind, Shoemaker Elementary School is now hosting a Facebook page and Twitter feed, which are accessible from our school website.
Building relationships with our students, staff and families is extremely important to me, and I look forward to getting to know everyone in my new Shoemaker family. Please do not hesitate to stop by, call, or e-mail me at (610) 965-1626 email@example.com.
