Songwriting Club will reconvene at Willow Lane this year! This group is designed to provide students with an opportunity to express themselves through words, rhymes, rhythms, and melodies. They will utilize language arts related skills such as rhyming, alliteration, figurative language, vivid vocabulary and several others. Students should be able to display a good sense of collaboration, creativity, and genuine interest in understanding the craft of songwriting. This club is also intended to foster student relationships and the many connections the gift of music can bring us all.
The group will have the opportunity to perform these songs in a cafe style setting, go on a Willow Lane tour singing their songs, and record a full produced copy of their work. You can check out past songs and videos, read the lyrics, and find out more by scanning the QR code on the Songwriting Club Flyer.
Fourth and fifth graders are invited to participate in Songwriting Club that will meet at Willow Lane on Wednesdays after school from 3:30pm to 4:45pm (unless school is not in session or otherwise communicated.) Our First meeting will be Wednesday, November 13th and run every Wednesday until February 26th. There will likely be additional Wednesdays scheduled in March as well as rehearsing for a performance. The performance date is TBD. Along with learning how to craft songs and performing, students will receive a recording their work and the experience of producing a song. This is a fun, and engaging after school program that students can enjoy throughout the winter months!
