Spelling Bee Congratulations – Please join us in congratulating 7th-grade student Sampath Muthiah, the 2026 Eyer Middle School Spelling Bee Champion! Sam demonstrated outstanding spelling skills throughout the multi-week competition and will proudly represent our nearly 800 students at the Diamond City Regional Spelling Bee in Wilkes-Barre. We would also like to recognize and thank all of the students who participated in this year’s Spelling Bee.

6th Grade EyeTV Applications – Applications are now available for current 6th-grade students interested in joining EyeTV’s Morning Announcement Broadcast Production Team for the current school year. Applications can be picked up outside Mr. Davis’s Room 113 and must be completed and returned by Wednesday, January 28. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the EyeTV team!

Student Council Valentines Day Candy Grams – The Eyer Student Council is selling Valentine’s Day Candy Grams for students who want to show their classmates they care this Valentine’s Day! Candy Grams are just $1 and will be sold during all lunch periods from January 26 through February 10. Candy Grams will be delivered to students on February 12, don’t miss this sweet opportunity to spread some Valentine’s Day cheer!

25-26 Yearbook Sales – Yearbook Sales Are Open! The 25–26 Eyer Yearbook is officially on sale! We are excited to continue our partnership with Christmas City Studios, allowing us to produce our yearbooks locally and include more spring activities than ever before. There are two different Cover Options, Soft Cover ($29) and Hard Cover ($36). The yearbooks are only available online via the Christmas City Studios website (https://tinyurl.com/339svee8). The deadline for sales is February 28. No books will be available for purchase in-person.

Yearbook Cover Design Contest – Attention Eyer Artists!  Do you have an eye for design? Do you like to draw or paint? The Yearbook Club is taking submissions for the annual Cover Contest. The winning design will be the front cover and a runner-up may be chosen for the back cover. Submissions should be on approximately 8.5″x11″ paper and done by hand. Please turn in your submissions to the Counseling Office by Friday, March 6th. See Ms. Eustice in the Counseling Office with any questions or to see prior yearbook covers for examples.

Spring Sports Sign Ups – The EPSD Spring Sports 25-26 Sign-up Google Form is live and accepting sign ups from students and families interested in participating in Spring Athletics. The due date for students to fill out this form is February 8, 2026.  On February 9th, coaches will receive the sign-up lists via the google link to be able to add anyone interested in signing up and have not done so. 

Girls Middle Level Lacrosse Information Meeting – The Emmaus MS Girls Lacrosse Club will be holding an informational meeting for any girls in 7th & 8th grade interested in playing lacrosse this spring.  The Club team consists of girls from both Eyer and LMMS.  Beginners and experienced girls and families are welcome to attend the meeting Tuesday, January 27th at 7:00pm in the Eyer Auditorium.  We will be discussing the upcoming season including practices, game schedule, expectations, booster club fees, and equipment.  If you are unable to attend please reach out to Coach Roxann Betz at girlssting@gmail.com with any questions.

Robot Bowling LMC Activity – Robot Bowling is coming to 9th period on January 30th! The Lehigh University Computer Science Department is hosting an interactive workshop where students will use tablets to code and control robots as they knock down bowling pins. You’ll learn the basics of block coding, work through challenges, and collaborate with friends, all while competing for the perfect strike. Interested students should sign up in the Library. Space is limited, so don’t wait!

PAWS Cookie Day – Our next PAWS Cookie Day will take place this Friday, January 30. Students who wear school colors will earn a cookie of their choice during lunch. To continue offering PAWS Cookie Day, we rely on the generous support of our Eyer families. If you are able to help sustain this tradition, donations may be made through the PAWS Cookie Day Sign-Up Genius or via the Eyer PTO Venmo account (@Eyer-Connection). When using Venmo, please label your contribution “Cookie Day.” Thank you for helping keep this special annual tradition alive for our students. We are truly grateful for the ongoing generosity and support of our school community. 

Middle School Girls Lacrosse Opportunities – Discover the excitement of MS girls Lacrosse!  Whether you’re brand new to the sport or already have experience, our program offers a fast-paced environment where players can build skills, make friends, and grow their confidence.  The Emmaus HS and MS coaches are offering 2 opportunities to learn the sport and develop your skills as we prepare for the upcoming spring season. Students interested in participating need to print and complete intramural consent form to participate (https://www.eastpennsd.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Intramural-Activities-Parental-Consent-Form-January-2022.pdf).  Equipment can be provided to new players to borrow at each session.  Contact Coach Roxann Betz with any questions- roxann77@ptd.net

Junior High Baseball Sign-Ups – Attention 8th Grade Families, Junior High Baseball Sign-Ups are now open! Any 8th grade baseball player in the East Penn School District is eligible to try out for the Emmaus/Lower Macungie Junior High Baseball Team in Spring 2026. Use the link below to sign up. 

Volunteer Opportunities– We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming volunteer opportunities! Your support plays an important role in creating a positive and enriching experience for our students, and we truly appreciate any time you can give. AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Girls on the Run-The Girls on the Run roster has reached its maximum capacity in accordance with GOTR guidelines. Any additional students who attempt to register will be placed on a waiting list in the event that a spot becomes available.

For students who are already registered, practices will begin in March. Mrs. Hackman will share additional information with parents and create a Schoology page in mid-February

6th Grade Drama Club – Want to boost your confidence, learn acting skills, and have a blast? Join the 6th Grade Drama Club! No experience is required, just bring your energy and excitement. You’ll make friends, discover your inner star, and get ready for future theatre opportunities. Drama Club meets in room 503 on Thursdays. Drama Club: Where 6th graders become STARS!

Chess Club – Join us if you love chess and want to play or learn how to.  All levels welcome! We will meet on Thursdays after school in room 650.

Crochet Club – Students interested in learning the art of crochet in a fun, welcoming space can do so after school on Tuesdays in room 610. Whether you’re a beginner or already know a few stitches, you’ll create projects you can be proud of. To join, pick up a permission slip in the Guidance Office. We are always accepting fiber donations if any family has yarn to spare. Donations could be brought to the Main Office. 

Four Square Club – There is not 4-Square this week. The next meeting will be 1/29. The Eyer Four Square Club meets after school on Thursdays.

Mathcounts Club – Mathcounts is a national middle school program that makes math engaging and fun through enrichment, coaching, and competitions. Students interested in participating should stop by Mrs. Hummell’s Room 507 for meeting dates and more details. If you enjoy solving math problems and puzzles, working on a team, and competing while building new skills, this is the club for you!

Multicultural Club – Celebrate diversity by learning about and sharing traditions, cultures, and perspectives from around the world on Thursdays in room 111

Reading Olympics Team – Love to read? Want to discuss books and play some fun trivia games? Then you should join the Reading Olympics Club! We meet two or three times a month and will be preparing for a regional competition at the end of the school year. You can read as much or as little as you like, so come on and get in on the fun! Ready to join? Sign up outside Room 636.

Walking Club – 🚶‍♀️🚶 Stop by the Main Office to sign up and pick up a permission slip to walk off campus. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

RECURRING

Chromebooks – Students should develop a consistent routine to charge their Chromebooks every night to ensure they’re prepared for class each day. Creating a plan, such as designating a specific charging spot and setting a reminder before bedtime, can help make this habit stick.

Late Bus The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.

Lost & Found – There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.

Weis4School Rewards Program – The Weis4School Rewards Program allows schools to earn funds to support their programs when families shop at Weis. Eyer families can register their existing Weis Rewards Card to benefit our school by following the link below. Please consider taking these simple steps to help support programming for our students!
