Eyer School Community,
The East Penn School District has designated Monday, February 23rd, as a Flexible Instructional Day (FID). A Flexible Instructional Day replaces a traditional snow day. EPSD will utilize an asynchronous model, meaning secondary teachers will post assignments in Schoology for each class period. These assignments are designed for students to complete independently. As a reminder, whenever we have a Flexible Instructional Day (FID), the following will be in place:
- Secondary teachers will post all FID assignments in Schoology by 8:30 AM.
- All students will use their EPSD Chromebook to complete assigned activities.
- Asynchronous assignments will be posted for each of the student’s scheduled class periods, including Related Arts. In addition, all students should complete 20 minutes of work in the iReady Digital Program. Students who have finished all iReady lessons should instead complete 20 minutes of practice in the Delta Math program.
- All teachers have previously reviewed FID expectations with their students in order to ensure that they are appropriately informed of their responsibilities on a Flexible Instructional Day (FID). Students are also well versed on how to navigate to and access assignments on Schoology.
- Teachers will be available via email to answer questions that a student may have.
- All students should attempt to complete all Flexible Instructional Day Assignments. However, if additional support is needed necessary, teachers will be able to provide additional support, direction, and time when the students return to school
- The EPSD Technology Department Maintains the Student Chromebook Troubleshooting Tips and FAQs to support students who may be experiencing technology challenges.
As a reminder, when the East Penn School District utilizes a Flexible Instructional Day (FID), an initial announcement will be communicated by Dr. Campbell via phone call, text message, district social media, and the district website. A separate message will then be sent from the Eyer Administration to remind the Eyer community of school-specific FID procedures. Finally, your child’s teachers will communicate Flexible Instructional Day (FID) assignments through Schoology.
