As mentioned during the Leaders’ Meeting last week, we have vetted and compiled a list of local community food resources for our East Penn families. As you can imagine, communication with some organizations has been slow due to volunteer staffing and limited hours. Our team will continue outreach and make updates to the district webpage to ensure families have access to the most current information throughout the holiday season and the remainder of the school year.

Community Food Assistance Resources

Every family deserves access to nutritious food. Whether your family’s needs are temporary or ongoing, our East Penn community is here to help. A comprehensive list of local resources offering access to groceries and meals has been developed by the district to support our families. We encourage you to explore these community food assistance programs to find organizations that can best assist your family. The East Penn School District and local community are here to support our families.

  • Regional Food Bank Directory – This comprehensive list features the locations and operating hours of regional food banks throughout the Lehigh Valley, providing free and accessible meal support to families in need. Each food bank serves local communities with varying schedules, making it easier for families to find assistance close to home.
  • National School Lunch Program – The National School Lunch Program provides school lunches at a reduced or free rate for students who qualify based on federal annual household income guidelines. Additional information about program eligibility and guidelines on how to apply can be found via those links.   • EPSD Food Assistance Program – The EPSD continues to partner with a host of local organizations, including the Emmaus Rotary Club, to provide a weekly food distribution for East Penn families in need. There are two distribution sites, one Emmaus High School and another at Lower Macungie Middle School. This joint effort helps ensure that families have regular access to essential food resources throughout the school year.
  • Eyer Middle School Pop-Up Food Pantry – The Eyer Angel Network operates a pop-up food pantry for Eyer families, offering grab-and-go non-perishable food items located in a case in the Eyer vestibule during school hours (7:15 AM – 3:30 PM). Families in need can discreetly access these resources by visiting the Main Office at any time during the school day.
  • FindhHelp.org – FindHelp.org is a free, easy-to-use website that helps families find local support for basics like food, housing, healthcare, and more.
