Since this is the year of the Mantra, if you have a positive Mantra that you like and/or live by, and would like to hear it during announcements, please submit it to Mrs. Batz in the main office. All Admin approved Mantras will be added to the list and used in rotation. We look forward to your additions.
Library Advisory Board– Would you like to be part of the Library Advisory Board? We get together and discuss any changes or additions that could be made to improve the library. The first meeting will be held today during 9th period.
Library-Have any questions or want book recommendations? Julia from Lower Macungie Community Library will join Mr. Solano in the Eyer’s library all day Monday, September 16th. Freebies and information will be available. Students are encouraged to stop in the library to connect with Mr. Solano and Julia from the Lower Macungie Community Library!
Jazz Band– Jazz Band is a performance group that plays Jazz Music. Instruments in a Jazz Band are: Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, Baritones, Tuba, Drum Set, Piano, Bass, and Electric Guitar. Students interested in playing drum set, piano, bass, or guitar must have experience on those instruments, must take private lessons on those instruments, and must audition to be in the group. Rehearsals are mostly Tuesdays after school until 4:00 p.m. September 24 through early May. If you are interested in being a member of the Jazz Band, please go to the band room (room 316) to read the information and put your name on the sign-up sheet. You have through the end of the day on tomorrow, Friday, September 13 to sign up. See Miss England with any questions.
Peace Poster Contest– The Eyer Art Department is proud to announce the 2024 annual Peace Poster Contest. First, second, and third place winners will be awarded prize money and a free dinner for you and your family. If interested, please see Mr. Willett for details and poster paper.
8th Grade Art Contest – The Eyer Art Department is hosting an 8th Grade Student Art Contest. Any 8th grade student who is interested in participating should see Mr. Willet in Room 222 for additional information. Four 8th grade student participants will win a FREE 10 Week art course at the Baum School of Art as a prize for their submission.
Book Talk– Mr. Solano is excited to announce an upcoming book talk centered around Jason Reynolds’ Long Way Down. This event will take place on Thursday, September 19th, during 9th period in the library . To participate, you’ll need to get a pass from your 9th period teacher. Looking forward to a great discussion!
Clubs:
- Kid to Kid Jr– Are you a 7th or 8th grader who wants to make a difference by helping others and being a positive role model at school? If this sounds like you, the Kid It Kid Jr. Club might be the perfect fit! Throughout the year, students in this club collaborate with the high school club and other schools to create positive change both at school and in the community. To join, sign up in the counseling office, and Mrs. Hackman and Mrs. Snow will send you a reminder about our first meeting.
- Yearbook Club– Sign-ups for are now open. Please stop by the Counseling Office to pick up an application and get more information. Applications are due by September 20th.
- Ski/Snowboard Club-Do you like to ski or snowboard? Have you always wanted to try skiing or snowboarding but never did? Join the Eyer Ski and Snowboard Club! The Ski and Snowboard Club will take 4 trips to Blue Mountain Resort in January and February. Want to learn more? Pick up a packet from Ms. Berndt’s room (room 104) across from the main office. The packet contains all of the information needed to join the club. Space is limited so don’t wait to get your paperwork.
- Math 24– Do you like math games? Can you make the number 24 using multiple operations? If so, consider joining the Math 24 club. Math 24 will meet every Thursday. We will be practicing for a competition in May! If you are interested in joining and possibly being a member of the Math 24 team, please see Mrs. King in Room 663 to sign up.
- No Place for Hate– Want to make Eyer a place where all students feel welcome, valued and included? Consider joining No Place for Hate. We will have our first meeting after school in room 621, Señora Kannenberg’s room today, September 12th. All students are welcome. Be sure to sign up for the late bus or make arrangements to be picked up by 4pm.
- Crochet Club: Are you ready to unleash your creativity? Come and join Crochet Club, where yarn meets imagination! Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or a complete beginner, all skill levels are welcome. Sign up in room 635 with Mrs. Dean. Enjoy a fun afternoon of crafting, sharing techniques, and making new friends. First meeting is today, Thursday, September 12th. Let’s stitch together a cozy community!
- Future City Club: Are you interested in environmental issues? Future City might be for you! In Future City, we learn engineering solutions to environmental issues, and build a model futuristic city out of recycled materials. Eyer’s club will be meeting after school twice a week through early February. Get applications in Mr. Scherer’s room, 522 (pod 3), the Commons, or outside the LMC. They are due this Friday 9/13 and can be turned in to the office or room 522.
- Mathcounts: Do you like solving math problems and puzzles? Are you interested in learning more challenging math skills? If so, then Mathcounts could be for you! Mathcounts is a competitive math team that meets once a week after school where we learn more advanced math skills, solve math problems, and have fun! If you’re interested, please stop by Room 507 or send Mrs. Hummell an email. The first Mathcounts meeting will be Tuesday, September 17. Hope to see you there!
- Best Buddies Club is an incredible opportunity to make new friends and have fun with students with special needs. By joining, you’ll help create an inclusive and supportive school environment while enjoying activities, games, and events together. It’s all about building friendships and making everyone feel welcome! Let’s spread kindness and have a blast together! Please reach to Mrs. Hastie and Mrs. Maurer for more information.
- Multicultural Club: Interested in embracing diversity, celebrating cultures, and making new friends? Join the Eyer Multicultural Club. Our first meeting will be held next week. We will start off with planning activities for Hispanic Heritage Month. See Mrs. Cosme in the School Counseling office for more information or to sign up. All students are welcome!
- Table Top Club: Are you interested in learning how to play Board Games and Card Games like Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering, or Pokemon? Or do you want to participate in Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart Tournaments with your friends? If so, now is your chance! Starting Tuesday September 17th, Eyer’s Tabletop Club is the place you’ll want to be. If you are interested in joining, please see Mr. Davis in the music room (room 310) and sign up on the paper hanging outside his door!
- Stem Club-Are you passionate about creating? Curious about woodworking, engineering, or technology? Join STEM Club, where you’ll learn project design, woodworking techniques, and build exciting projects! To apply, pick up an application from the Commons near the Art room, or outside Mrs. Gillen’s Tech Ed room (406). The deadline is Monday, September 30th, so submit your application on time. Please note that not all applicants will be accepted. If you have any questions, reach out to Mrs. Gillen or Ms. Feliciani.
- Walking Club will continue every Tuesday and Thursday, weathering permitted. Please make sure to sign up for the late bus or made arrangements to get picked up by 4 pm.

Late Bus
The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.
Lost & Found
There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.
