The junior high competition cheerleading team won 1st place at their competition at Southern Lehigh this past weekend.  Congratulations to a team who has worked so hard this year!

Student Council 10 Days of Winter Spirit – Starting Monday, we’re kicking off our 10 Day of Winter Spirit sponsored by the Eyer Student Council and we’d love to see everyone join in. Let’s bring some festive cheer to t cdhe hallways and have a little fun as we head into the winter season. We can’t wait to see how the students and staff members embrace each theme day!

Middle School Girls Lacrosse Opportunities – Discover the excitement of MS girls Lacrosse!  Whether you’re brand new to the sport or already have experience, our program offers a fast-paced environment where players can build skills, make friends, and grow their confidence.  The Emmaus HS and MS coaches are offering 2 opportunities to learn the sport and develop your skills as we prepare for the upcoming spring season. Students interested in participating need to print and complete intramural consent form to participate (https://www.eastpennsd.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Intramural-Activities-Parental-Consent-Form-January-2022.pdf).  Equipment can be provided to new players to borrow at each session.  Contact Coach Roxann Betz with any questions- roxann77@ptd.net

  • Friday Stick Skills January & February – At Elite Sports Academy in Emmaus, 4:30-5:30.  If interested email girlssting@gmail.com for details and costs. 
  • Open Gym – Tuesdays in February at Emmaus HS Main Gym 7:30-9pm. 

The Giving Tree – If you selected a mitten tag from the Giving Tree this year, please turn in the unwrapped gift to the Counseling Office by Tuesday, December 9th. We are also gratefully accepting gift card donations to further support our Eyer families. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed—your generosity truly makes a difference and is greatly appreciated!

The Snow Glow – The Snow Glow, a casual dance and activity night, will take place this Friday, December 12th, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Tickets are $5 and will be sold during lunches this week. All proceeds will support the Eyer Angel Network. 

Snow Glow Angel Network Pantry Restock Raffle – Students attending the Snow Glow can join a Gift Card Raffle for Amazon or Nike to help restock the Eyer Angel Network Food Pantry. To participate, students can bring non-perishable food item(s) (pasta, rice, peanut butter, jelly, canned veggies, beans, mac and cheese, etc.) to the dance. Each donated item earns a student one raffle ticket. Thank you for continuing to support the mission of the Eyer Angel Network!

Winter Band & Orchestra Concert – Don’t miss the Eyer Winter Band & Orchestra Concert on Wednesday, December 17th at 7 PM in the Eyer Auditorium! Come celebrate the talent and hard work of our students, all families and the public are welcome!

PAWS Pretzel Day – The December PAWS Pretzel Day will take place this week on December 11th. Students can purchase a soft pretzel for $1 during 9th Period. Proceeds from PAWS Pretzel Days help fund the PAWS School-Wide Positive Behavior Support incentives at Eyer throughout the year.

PAWS Cookie Day – The December PAWS Cookie Day will be held on December 18th. Students wearing GREEN, GOLD, Eyer attire, or the Spirit Day Attire of a Flannel will be rewarded with a cookie of their choice during lunch. PAWS Cookie Day is a long-standing Eyer tradition, fully supported by donations from our school community. Families can support this Eyer tradition by donating via Venmo (@Eyer-Connection) or by signing up to bring cookies the day of (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090E4BACA72AA57-paws13#/). If using Venmo, please label your contribution as “Cookie Day.” Thank you for helping keep this annual tradition alive for our students!

Volunteer Opportunities– We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming volunteer opportunities! Your support plays an important role in creating a positive and enriching experience for our students, and we truly appreciate any time you can give. Whether you can volunteer once or on an ongoing basis, we would be thrilled to have you. Please use our link to sign up. Electricity and Magnetism Library Workshop – Mr. Solano will host an electricity and magnetism workshop for interested students in the Library on December 10. This hands-on session will give students the chance to explore key concepts in a meaningful, guided setting. Participants will build simple circuits and investigate how electricity and magnetism interact. Students who would like to attend can sign up in the Library. 

Ski and Snowboard Club Meeting – Attention ski and snowboard club members, there is a mandatory meeting on Wednesday December 10th.  Check in with your homeroom teacher and go to the cafeteria at the beginning of 9th period.

Yearbook Club– The Yearbook Club will meet on Tuesday, December 9th after school in the Learning Lab.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

6th Grade Drama Club – Want to boost your confidence, learn acting skills, and have a blast? Join the 6th Grade Drama Club! No experience is required, just bring your energy and excitement. You’ll make friends, discover your inner star, and get ready for future theatre opportunities. Drama Club meets in room 503 on Thursdays. Drama Club: Where 6th graders become STARS!

Chess Club – Join us if you love chess and want to play or learn how to.  All levels welcome! We will meet on Thursdays after school in room 650.

Crochet Club – Students interested in learning the art of crochet in a fun, welcoming space can do so after school on Tuesdays in room 610. Whether you’re a beginner or already know a few stitches, you’ll create projects you can be proud of. To join, pick up a permission slip in the Guidance Office. We are always accepting fiber donations if any family has yarn to spare. Donations could be brought to the Main Office. 

Four Square Club – The Eyer Four Square Club will begin meeting after school on Thursdays. Spaces are limited, so be sure to sign up with Mrs. Gaines in the Main Office.

Mathcounts Club – Mathcounts is a national middle school program that makes math engaging and fun through enrichment, coaching, and competitions. Students interested in participating should stop by Mrs. Hummell’s Room 507 for meeting dates and more details. If you enjoy solving math problems and puzzles, working on a team, and competing while building new skills, this is the club for you!

Multicultural Club – Celebrate diversity by learning about and sharing traditions, cultures, and perspectives from around the world on Thursdays in room 111

Reading Olympics Team – Love to read? Want to discuss books and play some fun trivia games? Then you should join the Reading Olympics Club! We meet two or three times a month and will be preparing for a regional competition at the end of the school year. You can read as much or as little as you like, so come on and get in on the fun! Ready to join? Sign up outside Room 636.

Walking Club – 🚶‍♀️🚶 Stop by the Main Office to sign up and pick up a permission slip to walk off campus. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

RECURRING

Chromebooks – Students should develop a consistent routine to charge their Chromebooks every night to ensure they’re prepared for class each day. Creating a plan, such as designating a specific charging spot and setting a reminder before bedtime, can help make this habit stick.

Late Bus The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.

Lost & Found – There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.

Weis4School Rewards Program – The Weis4School Rewards Program allows schools to earn funds to support their programs when families shop at Weis. Eyer families can register their existing Weis Rewards Card to benefit our school by following the link below. Please consider taking these simple steps to help support programming for our students!
